Laura Mercier's Newest Product
Have you tried the newest addition to the Laura Mercier family?
Well, your girl tried Laura Mercier's newest foundation and I wanted to share my honest opinion.
As a quick disclaimer, YES, I consider playing with makeup and getting all dolled up as self-care. It has been the best way to alleviate stress while creating and trying new techniques. At least in my book.
First things first, I received Laura Mercier's Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation, their Translucent Loose Setting Powder, and their Velour Puff complimentary for testing purposes via @influenster, @lauramercier, and @sephora. I loved the packaging that this product came in and love the pump that the container comes with to prevent over use and build up.
Before I dive into the review, I wanted to quickly rave about Laura Mercier's Translucent Loose Setting Powder. I am a HUGE fan of this product and have consistently used it for three years now. It's seriously the ONLY setting powder that applies flawlessly while controlling my excess oil. I usually pack this product on my face and allow it to sit or "bake" into my face. Once my foundation is locked in, I enjoy the fact that this product produces no photo flashback. Honestly, nothing's worse than taking the perfect photo/selfie and realizing that your face does not match the rest of your body. This powder is definitely a MUST HAVE makeup product and it's perfect for controlling oily to combination skin.
As far as the foundation, it claims to be Laura's longest wearing foundation. As well as, a full coverage foundation fused into one weightless formula. It's their "all the wear, all the coverage, without the weight, foundation."
15 HOUR WEAR | MEDIUM TO FULL COVERAGE | WEIGHTLESS MATTE FINISH | OIL FREE | TRANSFER RESISTANT | MY SHADE: 3N1 Buff
I definitely agree that this foundation is a full coverage foundation and it felt light weight on my face. The foundation did not feel cake-y and it provided great coverage. As far as how long it stayed on my face. I stayed matte for at least 5 hours before I began to blot the excess oil. Keep in mind, I have extremely oily skin, so this foundation might last longer for women with combination to dry skin.
To be completely candid with you all, I am not a fan of this foundation. I felt that the foundation sunk into my pores and accentuated my pores and areas of my face that have texture. I also felt that this foundation broke a part around my nose area, and even though I don't mind blotting through out the day, adding powder on the surface layer only added additional texture; which is no bueno! If you have oily skin and looking for a great recommendation, I would definitely advocate for the L'OREAL PARIS-Infallible Pro-Matte 24 hour foundation. Another holy grail item in my makeup bag.
If you are someone with small pores and don't have excessively oily skin, then this product might work for you. Just an FYI, if you do decide to try this product for yourself, please keep in mind that this foundation sets quickly, so work in small areas and blend as you go.
I'm curious, what foundation have you been loving lately? I would love to hear your recommendations and try new products.
